It all began with one exceptional man named Charles H. Spragg . . .

In early 1970, Dr. Spragg began his first dental practice in Arlington, Ohio. A few months later, he teamed up with Dr. Jack Winters, and together they opened another location on Lima Ave. in Findlay, Ohio. Seven years later, Dr. Spragg struck out alone and purchased the lot at 1901 S. Main St., which had been previously occupied by a snow cone shop (as he recalled it). After additional partnerships and configurations, Dr. Spragg ultimately built his practice alone and established his reputation as a fundamental pillar in the community of Findlay.

Every year, Dr. Spragg sponsored the Dr. Charles H. Spragg Golf Scholarship for a University of Findlay undergraduate athelete. In 1996, he was especially eager to meet that year's recipient: Jonathan K. Davis from Versailles, Ohio, who was reported to be both an avid golfer AND a pre-dental freshman.

One very cold, very rainy afternoon at the beginning of that year's fall semester, Dr. Spragg found himself all alone on the golf course at the Findlay Country Club. Well, almost all alone. As he puts it, there was only one other guy out there swinging a club, who clearly must have been just as loony as he was for attempting to play in such awful conditions. Dr. Spragg introduced himself to the young player and was delighted to discover that it was Jonathan K. Davis himself. It was the beginning of a fruitful friendship.

In 1999, Jonathan needed internship hours as a part of his dental program, so Dr. Spragg offered up his practice as training grounds. While Jonathan mostly recalls all of the merciless teasing he endured at the hands of the seasoned staff he would later inherit, he usually admits that he also received quite a lot of valuable instruction.

Jonathan went on to complete his degree in dentistry at the Ohio State University and then served in the United State Army for four years. In 2007, he was ready to start his own dental practice. As luck or fate would have it, Dr. Spragg had begun thinking about retirement, but he still had a busy, successful practice to worry about. Thus, Jonathan (now Dr. Davis) returned to his old stomping grounds in Findlay and took over Dr. Spragg's practice in 2008.
